February Retreat Set Plans for the Future
Central Committee Members, alternates, and associates participated in a daylong retreat held at the Marinwood Community Center. Attendees worked on such on-going issues as bylaws, rules, resolutions, and budgeting issues. Those interested in campaigns and candidates formed two committees--Campaigns Services and Candidate Recruitment. Database, Outreach/Communications and Development were three new committees set up during the retreat.

Volunteers Manned DCCM Booth at the Marin County Fair

Lynn Bornstein and the array of printed materials available to fair goers

Volunteers who set up and manned the DCCM Booth at the recent Marin County Fair got an earful from fair-goers who are fed up with the Bush administration. Many people stopped by to register their displeasure with the state of the nation. And there were also a lot of people registering to vote, some for the first time. A straw poll set up to test the preferences of Marin Democrats about who should get the nomination for president in 2008 turned up a three-way tie with Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and Barack Obama.
